Mayor Kerry McCarver signed a proclamation declaring May Neurofibromatosis Month in Cheatham County to encourage education about the rare genetic disorder.
Neurofibromatosis impacts one in every 3,000 births in all populations regardless of race, ethnicity or gender. The Children’s Tumor Foundation leads efforts to promote and sponsor world-class medical research aimed at effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
