The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association (CCHGA) invites families to celebrate Halloween with Candy and Chaos Through History on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Cheatham County Museum in Ashland City.

This free, family-friendly event combines Halloween fun with local history. Children can explore museum exhibits, enjoy spooky surprises, and participate in a special History Passport scavenger hunt. Those who collect stamps at designated stations will receive a Halloween treat.

The evening will also feature candy, photo opportunities, and plenty of Halloween fun. Costumes are encouraged for all ages.

“We want children and families to discover that history doesn’t have to be boring,” said CCHGA representatives.

The event will take place at 835 South Main Street in Ashland City. Admission is free, although donations are appreciated. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of four children per adult.

The museum will be closed during regular daytime hours on October 31 to prepare for the festivities and will reopen at 5 p.m.
