The Cheatham County Election Commission has recently issued some important updates.
New Voting Requirement Unless an exception applies, a federal or state government issued photo ID is now required to vote; college student IDs will not be accepted. Presidential Preference Primary Election
A Presidential Preference Primary Election has been called for Cheatham County on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the various precincts. The election's purpose is for residents to vote for their presidential candidate preference in each political party, delegating candidates for the national conventions.
A Democratic County Primary and a Republican County Primary is also called for Cheatham County on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., at the various precincts. This election's purpose is to vote for county political party candidates for the local election which is set for November 5, 2024. The County Primary (democratic and republican) will include property assessor, road superintendent, and school board districts two, three, and six.

National Convention Delegates and County Political Party Primary Candidates: 12:00 NOON on December 14, 2023
The last day to register to vote before the March 5, 2024 election is February 5, 2024.

The office is located behind the Cheatham County Library located at 188 John Mayfield Dr., Suite 100, in Ashland City. Office hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
