During the past quarter, the Cheatham County Community Enhancement Coalition reached more than 7,500 community members, including over 4,000 youth and 3,500 adults, through prevention-focused education and outreach across Cheatham County.
The Coalition’s work included school-based programming such as Escape the Vape at Harpeth Middle School and Red Ribbon Week assemblies at West Cheatham Elementary School. Prevention activities were also led by the Coalition’s middle and high school youth leadership groups. The Coalition also connected with parents and caregivers through workshops and community events.
In partnership with multiple community-serving agencies, the Coalition hosted two countywide events during the quarter. Drug Take Back Day, held in October, provided residents with an opportunity to properly dispose of unused medications, resulting in a total collection of 140 pounds. In December, Celebration of Hope brought approximately 100 community members together.
