Celebration of Hope, Christmas Memorial Scheduled for December 15 in Ashland City

-Submitted

It's that time of year.

The weather is changing. The nights come sooner. The holidays surround us with love, warmth, and hope. Cheatham County has suffered much loss due to the overdose epidemic that plagues our state. Many have lost a parent, a partner, even a child. While others are enjoying their time during the holiday season, others are living with grief as a result of this epidemic. Many feel alone in it.

But they are not.

This event provides a safe place for members of the Cheatham County community to come together and remember those they have lost to overdose. We seek to honor those memories and offer compassion, kindness, and support.

Please join the Cheatham County Community Enhancement Coalition as we celebrate the lives of those lost and honor their memory during the course of this event. A variety of recovery, mental health, and family support services will be represented and have free information for the public.

Guest speakers will share their stories with the audience as a message of hope and comfort to others in the room with similar experiences. All attendees will be given a brief overdose reversal training and be certified under the TN Good Samaritan Law. Certificates and opioid overdose reversal kits will be available. We will have music, prayer, and memorial ornamentsattendees can decorate in memory of lost loved ones and keep.

We hope that you'll join us, be it as a volunteer or as a guest seeking support in their time of grief.
