CCHGA to Host Second Annual ‘History Is Simmering’ Chili Cook-Off

The Cheatham County Historical & Genealogical Association will host its second annual “History Is Simmering” Chili Social & Cook-Off on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Thrive 55+ Center in Ashland City.

The event will be held from Noon to 4 p.m. and will include a chili cook-off, food, fellowship and a silent auction. Tickets are $15 per person and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are available at the Cheatham County Museum or from members of the Cheatham County Historical & Genealogical Association.

Community members may also enter the chili cook-off at no charge. An entry form is required and is available on the CCHGA website. Participants will bring their chili to the event to compete in the cook-off and share with attendees.

A silent auction featuring a variety of items will also be held during the afternoon.

Proceeds from the event will support the association’s work to preserve, protect and share the history and genealogy of Cheatham County, as well as the work of the Cheatham County Museum.
