Cheatham's Gage Forsythe at the Franklin Admiral Invitational Varsity Wrestling Tournament (Angie Camper)
On Saturday, January 15, 2022, Cheatham County Central High School wrestled in the Franklin Admiral Invitational Varsity Wrestling Tournament with eight wrestlers competing in their respective individual weight classes.
Cheatham County Central finished in 15th place out of the 23 teams competing on the day.
Cheatham's Head Wrestling Coach, Jeremy Boyd, said, "This tournament was more about getting mat time, earning confidence, and experience from competing against the several talented wrestlers in each weight class."
Amanda Thomason secured 1st place in the girls' 107lbs division. Adan Alvarez and Daniel White secured 3rd and 5th places respectively in the 132 and 160lb weight classes in the boys' division.
Five other Cheatham County Central wrestlers contributed to the overall team score but did not place in their respective weight classes: Sumner Boyd - 126lbs, Caden Ospina - 138lbs, Kekoa Guerrero - 145lbs, Gage Forsythe - 170lbs, and Jason Guerrero - 220lbs.
