After serving Cheatham County, Middle Tennessee, and Western Kentucky for more than 10 years, a family-owned countertop and cabinet business has grown so much, the owners have broken ground on a new location with three times as much room as their current one. Francois and Maggie Van Eeden, owners of Bison Countertops, Inc., began their business in 2009 in Nashville, and moved to their current location in Ashland City one year later. They broke ground on the new facility next door to their current store on Highway 12 on February 8.

The new building is expected be completed by June, said Francois Van Eeden, and will have a larger showroom, office and workspace. Customers will have a bigger selection of granite, marble, quartz, Dekton and porcelain countertops. There will also be more products available to make it a one stop shop for the kitchen and bath remodels, the owner said. Folks will no longer have to browse the slabs outdoors, as all will be stored in the new building, he said.

Clients will see another benefit with the larger facility. Turnaround time for orders will be reduced tremendously, he explained, because work crews will have their own space. A qualified designer is also on staff, for families who wish to seek design help for their upcoming bath or kitchen remodeling projects.

The Van Eedens said they are thankful to the community, Cheatham County Chamber of Commerce, and other local businesses for their support over the past decade and look forward to serving Ashland City and surround neighborhoods into the future.

“Customer service is of the utmost importance to us, and we are glad to support our neighbors, emergency responders, schools, veterans, and others,” Van Eeden said. Last year, Bison was involved in the construction of the Veterans Memorial on Highway 49.
