The Cheatham Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their annual Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Riverbluff Park in Ashland City.
The popular Bash begins at 9AM and will end at 12PM; proof of Cheatham County residency is required.
To make the event successful, the organization leans heavily on business and community support. At the event, contributors are allowed to setup tables, pass out supplies, and meet the families being served. All supplies, in any amount, are welcome; if you wish to donate monetarily, the Chamber will purchase the supplies needed. A.O. Smith will be donating backpacks again this year.
Items needed are: boxes of crayons, scissors, 6ct. packs of glue sticks, 8ct. packs of washable markers, dry erase markers, wide-ruled paper, composition notebooks, colored pencils, highlighters, spiral notebooks, sheet protectors, three-ring pencil pouches, and folders with prongs and pockets.
"We also plan on giving families gifts from local businesses to help them with the transitions during the first few weeks of school," the Chamber says. "So, if your business is unable to provide supplies, you can still participate." Examples of this type of donation include discounts or services that may help parents out during this busy time of year.
After the event, any leftover supplies will be donated to schools across Cheatham County.
