Active COVID-19 Cases Steadily Declining in Cheatham County

After a recent surge, Cheatham County has seen a daily decline in active COVID-19 cases throughout the past 10 days.


According to reports from Cheatham County Mayor Kerry McCarver, who posts daily updates with data received from the Tennessee Department of Health, there has been a net decrease of 194 active cases over the past seven days.


The breakdown is as follows:


September 23- down 23 active cases

September 22- down 34 active cases (two-day total)

September 20- down 33 active cases

September 17- down 20 active cases

September 16- down 25 active cases

September 15- down 7 active cases

September 14- down 52 active cases


As of yesterday, September 23, the cumulative death count in the county stood at 61- two have been reported since September 13. There are currently 336 active cases.


The latest data shows that 47% of local residents are vaccinated with one shot, and 41% are fully vaccinated.

The Cheatham County Health Department offers free drive-through testing every day from 8:30AM to 10:30 AM. Regular testing is available Tuesdays and Thursdays, with self testing kits offered the other days.
