Sgt. Carl “Superman” Anthony Lyttle, age 57, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2020, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Carl was born in Hazard, Kentucky, on April 30, 1963, to Woodard Lyttle, Jr., and Barbara Statzer Lyttle.
Carl was a United States Army Veteran and made a career since 1996 of serving his community as a patrol sergeant for the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office.
Carl had a huge heart and will be greatly missed by his family, friends and brothers in blue.
He is preceded in death by his father, Woodard Lyttle, Jr., and his daughter, Alexis Lyttle.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Campbell Lyttle; mother, Barbara Lyttle; children, Tarra Lyttle, Jackson Cole Lyttle, Caleb Carter, Michael (Rachael) Carter; brothers, David (Rebecca) Lyttle, John (Rose) Lyttle, and Jack Lyttle; sisters, Carolyn Caudill and Becky (Vernon) Engle; grandchildren, Luna Csicsak, Nylah Heath, and Waverly Carter.
Funeral service with military honors will be Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 4pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Chris Royalty officiating. Eulogists will be Sheriff Mike Breedlove and Sgt. Jeremy Ethridge. Visitation will be Saturday before the service from 11am until service hour of 4pm.
Serving as pallbearers are Chief Deputy Tim Binkley, Sgt. Jeremy Ethridge, Sgt. Paul Ivey, Deputy Ryan Hawkins, Pleasant View Chief Tad Wheeler, and Brandon Reed.
Following the service, Carl will be cremated.
