Cannon, Willie Ray, age 87, Ashland City, TN, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at his home. Willie Ray worked for many years as a manager for Happy Day Laundry and as a cabinet maker in his later years. He served in the United States Air Force and was a participant in the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Franklin and Georgia Davis Cannon; wife of 56 years, Shirley Howell Cannon; daughter, Melinda Newell; sister, Judy Webb; brothers, Richard Don Cannon and Archie Wayne Cannon.
He is survived by his son, Mark Ray (Nancy) Cannon; two grandsons, William Bryant Newell and Derek Ray (Andrea) Cannon; granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Cannon; great-grandson, Carter Ray Cannon; sisters, Katie Hudgens, Nancy (Bruce) Newland, Melba Pardue, Joyce Evans, Betty Winters, Wanda (Jack) Bates, Janice (Rickey) Thomas; and sister-in-law, Carol Fogg Cannon.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Felts Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
