CCCHS Football Team in Quarantine After 2 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases

Football practices are on hold until next week at Cheatham County Central High after the school’s football team has two confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to Tim Adkins, Communications Director for the school district.

Rather than conduct contact tracing, the coaching staff determined it was in the best interest of its student athletes to quarantine the entire team, Adkins said in a statement.

CCCHS has halted all football practices and the team is expected to resume practice on Wednesday, Aug. 19 to prepare for the team’s first game on Friday, Aug. 28.

CCCHS did not have a Week One football game on Friday, Aug. 21 due to Clarksville-Montgomery County delaying the start of its high school football season until Aug. 31.

The Post is following this developing story and will post updates as new information becomes available.
