Shelby “Cubby” Lee Tinch, Sr., age 82, passed away on Wednesday July 15, 2020, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Shelby was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on December 23, 1937, to the late Alker Shelby Tinch and Lucille Gertrude DeMoss Tinch.
Shelby is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Francis Wilburn and Carolyn Manier; and brother, Carl Tinch. Shelby is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Wilma Lou (Hart) Tinch; brother, John Tinch; sons, Barry (Pam) Tinch, Gary (Renee) Tinch, and Shelby Lee Tinch, Jr; daughter, Tammy (Mark) Alessio; grandchildren, Bradley(Kayla) Pigg, Eric (Ashley) Tinch, Adam (Ana) Tinch, Crystal (Ryan) Maupin, Channing (Brandon) Rogers, Austin Alessio; and 8 great grandchildren.
Shelby was a retired home contractor.
Shelby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He served two years in the US Army. He loved golfing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends.
A memorial service in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home will be Sunday, July 19, 2020, at 4pm with Kevin Williams officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2020, from 2pm to 5pm and on Sunday, July 19, 2020 from 2pm to 4pm, time of service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sycamore Chapel Church of Christ Youth Group.
