Obituary: Austin Mitchell Shivers


It is with great sadness that the family of Austin Mitchell Shivers announce his sudden passing on Thursday, June 11, 2020.

Austin was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 5, 1991, to Timothy Glenn Shivers and Angela Suddeath Shivers.

He was 29 years of age. Austin was a graduate of Sycamore High School Class of 2009 and a graduate of David Lipscomb University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

He was an active member of Ashland City Church of Christ. He was active in the Youth Group and went on multiple mission trips to Honduras. He worked as the Service Manager for Roy Vaden Pools.

He loved fishing, snow skiing, and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed building things, and working with his hands. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, cousin, uncle and friend to many. He is lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Linda Shivers, Jim and Betty Suddeath; brother, Travis (Brooke) Shivers, MD; and nephew and niece, Noah Glenn and Nora Grace Shivers. Austin was predeceased by his grandfather, Robert Glenn Shivers.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Drake Jenkins and Brother Mike Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Hudgens Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday, June 15, 2020, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday from 11:00am until the service hour of 2:00pm.

Serving as active pallbearers are Cameron Betts, Clay Cannon, Chris Woodfin, Jacob Williams, Jesse Guy, John Suddeath, Hayden Suddeath and Derek Suddeath. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Suddeath, Roy Vaden and Brent Shivers.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Austin’s memory may be made to the Ashland City Church of Christ Christian Education Scholarship Fund.
