Upscale Apartment Development Seeks Home in Pleasant View

Pleasant View may become home to an upscale apartment development, The Ponds at Pleasant View. It will be the first of its kind for the town.

Located on Hicks Edgen near The Village and The Enclave subdivisions, the proposed development will land itself on 8.25 acres owned by Felix Tejeda.

The Ponds at Pleasant View, developed by Dennis Devine, will have a total of 74 units- all two stories or less.

Apartment units will range in size from approximately 900 square feet for the one bedrooms, 1,500 square feet for the two bedrooms, and 2,000 square feet for a three bedrooms.

If approved, the development will also boast two large private swimming pools and a 5,000 square foot amenity center.

The preliminary master plan was recommended for approval by the Pleasant View Planning Commission during their May meeting.

The needed rezoning, from R-2 residential to RPUD, will need to be approved at two separate readings, with a public hearing occurring before the second.

This, as well as the first vote, will be on next month’s agenda for the town’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting which is scheduled for July 14.

After the regularly scheduled workshop on June 25, a town hall meeting will be held with the developer. This is open to the public and will begin at 6 PM.
