2020 Graduation: What to Expect Across Cheatham County

The Cheatham County School District has announced tentative dates for graduation ceremonies and parades celebrating the Class of 2020 during the summer months. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the school system has rescheduled May graduations to the following:

  • CCCHS – Wednesday, June 3, 7 p.m., CCCHS football field

  • SHS – Thursday, June 4, 7 p.m., SHS football field

  • Harpeth High School – Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m. on the football field

Students will be seated according to Centers for Disease Control (CDC) social distancing guidelines. Families of the graduates will be provided a limited number of tickets for attending the ceremonies, pending the governor lifting restrictions on group sizes. The school system will also stream the graduations live so friends and families may view these students’ milestones.

Parades honoring the Class of 2020 are tentatively scheduled for: SHS on Saturday, May 20, at 10 a.m. following the traditional homecoming route in Pleasant View; CCCHS on Sunday, May 31, at 2 p.m. following the traditional homecoming route in Ashland City; and HHS on Monday, June 1, at 6:30 p.m. following the reverse of the traditional homecoming route, beginning at Harpeth View Trail across from HHS to East Kingston Springs Rd. Seniors are encouraged to decorate their cars and local businesses are encouraged to decorate and make signs for the graduates.

CCSD has inclement weather plans in place, with more information posted at https://www.cheathamcountyschools.net/apps/news/article/1219957.
