Through the generosity of Mr. John E. Mayfield, Cheatham County 4-H is able to select active senior high 4-H members to receive a $1000 college scholarship. Scholarships are based on 4-H involvement. This year Sarah “Lilly” Davis and Bryan Ham are the recipients.
Lilly is the daughter of Roger and Rebecca Davis of Ashland City. She will be graduating from Sycamore High School 5th in her class. While in 4-H, Lilly earned the recognition of Honor Club, All Star and Vol State. She has served in various leadership roles at both the county and regional level. Lilly was also active in our camping programs, Line and Design activities and Shooting Sports. She has served as our Honor Club President and Secretary. In addition to 4-H, Lilly was a member and officer of several organizations including Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, FCCLA, TSA, Student Council, and Art Club. She has played softball most of her life and was an active girl scout and a member of AHG. Her future plans include attending Tennessee Tech University and majoring in Human Ecology and has aspirations of being a 4-H agent.
Bryan is the son of Tommy Ham of Springfield and Sierra Knaus of Ashland City. He is graduating 13th in his class from Cheatham County Central High School. While in 4-H, Bryan was recognized as both an Honor Club Member and 4-H All Star. He attended 4-H camp in 4th-8th grade and represented Cheatham County in Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries project at Academic Conference. Bryan was also an active competitor in both archery and bb as part of the 4-H Shooting Sports program. He loved serving as a teen leader for Junior Camp. In addition to 4-H, soccer is Bryan’s passion is soccer. He played for CCCHS and served as captain for three years and for Rampage Soccer Club. He has won numerous district and team soccer awards. After graduating, Bryan plans to attend University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and major in Math. He hopes to be an actuary.
