The Livery Stables Offers Weekly Home-Cooked Meal Options, Feeds Seniors At No Cost

A Pleasant View business known for creating memorable weddings and other events is adjusting its business model to offer delicious, home-cooked meals for pickup and delivery for those who do not want to venture out or who cannot cook for themselves.

Kelly Ellis, owner of The Livery Stables Events Hall, said residents 60 years of age and older are eligible for free meals from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. Ellis said the meals can be preordered over the phone or by contacting the business on Facebook. Folks who are not seniors can still order, with meals available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The change came about after the governor’s order for people to stay at home as much as possible. “We have several employees, three who are essential, who have families to provide for and bills to pay and this gives them the chance to work,” Ellis said. “In addition, we have a large number of friends who are of senior age in the downtown area of Pleasant View who do not need to be getting out during this coronavirus outbreak,” she said.

Utilizing the catering kitchen and its inventory at The Livery Stables Event Hall, Ellis said her need to serve kicked in. “I have a servant’s heart and am always looking to serve. It’s our job as a community and as neighbors to help,” she said.

The Livery Stables Event Hall is located at 1104 Main St., Pleasant View, Tenn. The phone number is 615-746-8992. Reach them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Liverystablesofpv/.
