District Offering Students Free Meals Beginning April 7

The Cheatham County School District will be offering free student meals due to our COVID-19 closure beginning the week of April 7.

Breakfasts and lunches will be distributed via a “drive-through” system at one school in each cluster: Ashland City Elementary School, East Cheatham Elementary School and Pegram Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School.

The meals will be distributed on Tuesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Families can pick-up meals at any location.

The meals are for any child through 18 years whether they are a student of the Cheatham County School District or not.

The child receiving the meal MUST be present (in vehicle) for the pick-up, and meals cannot be consumed on site, per USDA regulations.

Families will not enter the school building for pick-up. Please stay in your vehicle and meals will be passed through to the driver based on the number of children in the vehicle.

On Tuesdays, children will receive three breakfast meals and three lunch meals. On Fridays, children will receive four breakfast meals and four lunch meals. All meals will exceed USDA nutritional requirements.

We encourage families to continue to be proactive in reduction the risk of COVID-19 by not congregating at the school site once meals have been distributed, continue to wash your hands often, sneeze or cough into a tissue and stay home if you are sick.

The meal program will continue through the school closure for COVID-19.
