Fresh Mexican Just How You Like It at Laredo’s

You can get your favorite Mexican food staples prepared just how you like them, right before your very eyes, at Laredo’s Burrito and Taco Shop in downtown Ashland City. The restaurant opened up three weeks ago, and boasts freshly-made meats, salsa, guacamole, queso, and toppings from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Adalberto Ruiz Garcia and his wife Julita Correa opened the location on South Main Street after customers at their Dickson restaurant asked for another spot to enjoy their favorite tacos, burritos, nachos, and Laredo’s bowls. The bowls are like nachos but instead of chips, you can select your favorite meat be placed on a bed of lettuce, Garcia explained. Tinga, a spicy pulled chicken, is one of the more popular choices, along with carnitas and brisket, he added. The restaurant also offers grilled chicken, steak, ground beef, fish, and shrimp. Everything’s homemade, and many are family recipes you can’t find anywhere else.

Garcia runs the restaurant with help from manager Juan Manuel. Both men have nearly two decades of experience in the business. “We’ve seen how different restaurants work, and we see what works well. We’ve found that if we take care of our customers, they take care of us, Manuel said. “People have been really supportive,” he said, and “the customers’ feedback on our Facebook really helps us help them.”

Laredo’s Facebook is https://www.facebook.com/Laredosburito.2/ and the restaurant is located at 202 North Main St., Ashland City, Tenn. The phone number is 615-246-1155.
