PV’s First Dedicated Walk-In Clinic Opens

For those times the family doctor is already closed, folks in Pleasant View and surrounding neighborhoods now have a new option: NorthCrest Quick Care walk-in clinic opened Jan. 13. The clinic, which is the first dedicated walk-in facility in the community, offers urgent care for adults and children who may have medical issues that don’t rise to the level of an emergency room visit, like flu or cold symptoms, strep throat, cuts, respiratory problems, and many others, according to Robert DeBerry, Director of NorthCrest Physician Services. Even broken bones and sprains are something they can help you with.

“We have an x-ray available in the next suite,” DeBerry said. “There’s also durable medical equipment on-site, such as slings and braces to get you through until you can visit an orthopedic doctor,” he added.

In the cases that are more serious, “we can tell you quickly whether you need to go to the emergency room,” DeBerry said, because experienced medical team members are always on duty. A nurse practitioner is always on staff, as well as a medical assistant and front desk registration associate. The doors are open 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday.

“We’re here to make it convenient for you,” DeBerry said. “We are open seven days a week and we are closer than Clarksville or Nashville, so folks don’t have to deal with that commute.” Most health insurance is accepted but be sure to call the clinic first or call your insurance provider to be sure, he added.

NorthCrest officials said the rapid population expansion in Pleasant View and Coopertown has always been on their radar and that’s why they felt the need for the clinic, which is the second one in their system. Their first was built in Springfield, Tenn., about 20 years ago.

“We’ve been looking at growth in Cheatham and Robertson Counties since about 2007. We’ve looked at subdivision plans and buildings processes. Over the past few years, we noticed a need for more than an 8 to 5 primary care model,” DeBerry said. What sets this clinic apart from other acute care facilities is that its mission is to help you get on with your life. “We have ‘quick’ in the name, and you’ll be out and done before you’d even get to Clarksville or Nashville,” he said.

While wait times will vary, you can always call ahead and check with the clinic at 615-746-1600. NorthCrest Quick Care Walk-In Clinic is located at 2536 Highway 49, Suite 110, Pleasant View, Tenn.
