Boxaloon Celebrates One Year of Unique Gifts

Local curated gift boutique and delivery service Boxaloon has shown staying power in the competitive retail world and is celebrating one year of business thanks to offering unique gifts and better service than chain stores. Owner Kayce Singleton also credits loyal customers who keep coming back and partnerships with local artisans as key parts of her strategy for success.

“We have displays with goods from local businesses like L. Rae Jewelry, Golden Age Supply, No. 9 Farms, GEB Embroidery, Aby Rose, Walker Feed Co., Bertie’s Biscuits, and Bang Candy Co.,” Singleton said.

“Expanding our website and offering local pickup also allow us to compete with online retailers,” she added. You can find a great sampling of what the store has to offer, in the Boxaloon website, including ABLE leather wallets and purses, as well as home décor and fragrances.

If you can make the time, though, it’s an experience to check out the brick-and-mortar location in downtown Ashland City. “Customers enjoy a more intimate experience with more unique options without having to leave Cheatham County,” Singleton said.

If you have never been to the Boxaloon shop, think of that cool friend that always has the special handmade ornaments or amazing scented candles you’ve always admired. You can also discover fashion you won’t find anywhere else: scarves with gilded galaxy prints or fluttering butterflies, cuddly sweaters, and witty holiday socks, as well as handmade jewelry.

Already the abbreviated 2019 shopping season has been a brisk one, with buyers making plenty of purchases, Singleton said. “While we had a very slow October, we had a busy November and expect December to be busy, too,” she said.

In addition to following Boxaloon on Instagram and Facebook, you can find the brick and mortar store at 606 North Main St., Ashland City, Tenn., 37015. The phone number is 615-246-1661.
