Sycamore Grad Makes History with FFA Award

Sycamore graduate, Kalie Brae Ellis, received the highest honor in the National FFA organization and made history for Sycamore High School by doing so. Not only is Ellis one of the few Cheatham residents to receive the award, she is also the first American FFA Degree recipient in chapter history.

Ellis, the daughter of Leslie and Terry Ellis, received her degree at the 92nd FFA Convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana, on November 2.

Ellis is currently majoring in agriculture education at TSU. Her agriculture teacher, Toni Hawley, says, “Kalie has been a great example to other students in the agriculture program. She is a great example of how the opportunities in FFA continue to build great leaders.”
