Cheatham County Veterans Parade Set for Nov. 3

Local veterans and citizens are invited to participate in the 4th Annual Cheatham County Veterans Parade on Sunday, Nov. 3. Grand Marshals for this year’s parade are Master Sergeant Hadley Williams and Specialist 5th Class James M. Cripps. Both men are retired service members and active civil servants who advocate for Cheatham County’s more than 3,000 veterans. Williams served in the Korean War and Cripps served overseas during the Vietnam era.

Schools, businesses, churches, local organizations, and individuals are all encouraged to decorate their vehicles and enter for awards. Scripps said he wants to remind people that you don’t have to be a veteran to take part. “Everyone has a veteran in their family, so come out and honor them by putting their name on your vehicle and driving in the parade,” he said.

Deadline for entries is October 26; there is no entry fee. Lineup begins at 1 p.m. at Riverbluff Park and the parade begins at 2 p.m. For more information about entries at the parade, call 615-792-6100.
