Blaine and Tristan McIntosh Honored in NY

A special night in the Big Apple put two well-known siblings and their hometown in the spotlight. New York Mets 2019 13th round draft pick Blaine McIntosh and his sister, 2015 American Idol finalist Tristan McIntosh, received thunderous applause on Monday, Sept. 23, at New York Citi Field in Queens. Blaine was honored as one of the newest Mets, and Tristan used her voice to knock it out of the park as she sang the National Anthem.

Their proud mom, Amy McIntosh, said it was great to see her children getting accolades together. “I always knew they were both destined for great things, but to this magnitude even surprised me as a mother. To see them both honored is amazing,” she said.

The Mets asked Tristan to perform as a special honor, her mom said. The timing couldn’t be better, as Tristan is gearing up to release new material.

Pleasant View Mayor Perry Keenan joined the McIntosh family for the special evening. The mayor presented Blaine with a pin honoring him for his contributions to his hometown. Being part of such a big moment, Keenan said, was hard to put into words.

“We have a tremendous amount of local talent, and to be able to honor two of our talented folks from two different industries is pretty special in itself,” he said.

Tristan and Blaine said they both had an amazing time together at Citi Field, and that being there with their family was incredible.

Keenan said they both make Pleasant View proud, and he invites the community to send their prayers and well-wishes for continued success for our homegrown talent.
