Art League of Cheatham County to Host Inaugural Show this Weekend

The newly formed nonprofit (501c3) Art League of Cheatham County will host their first juried art show Saturday, September 28.

The event, located at Sycamore Square on Frey Street in Ashland City, will boast 60 different entries created by 28 different artists from Pleasant View, Chapmansboro, Ashland City, Kingston Springs, and Pegram.

The art show is open to the public from 10 AM to 4 PM, and admission is free.

Three esteemed judges were selected to choose first, second, and third-place winners: Kell Black and Ken Shipley, both retired art professors from Austin Peay State University, and Randy McQuien, Jr, an illustration instructor and admission recruiter at Nossi College of Art. In addition to the top three pieces, others will be honored with merit awards, and one people’s-choice piece will be selected.

Although not part of the juried exhibition, some of the art league member's work, as well as children's art, will have a separate exhibition.

The Art League of Cheatham County will have a membership table set up during the event for those interested in joining.
