Planning Commission Approves Site Plan for PV Fairfield Inn, Event Center

On Tuesday, August 27, Kunal Shah’s plan to bring a Fairfield Inn & Suites with an event center to Pleasant View was approved by the planning commission during their monthly meeting that was rescheduled from August 6.

The plans will now head to the industrial development board and from there, the Cheatham County Commission. If those requests are satisfied, it is Shah’s vision that ground will be broken on the project sometime next spring. And by the summer of 2021, he hopes to see the hotel completed.

Located adjacent to Sycamore Academy on Highway 41-A, the proposed Fairfield Inn & Suites aims to bring both function and comfort to local residents, corporate businesses, and travelers alike.

“We want to cater to everyone,” says Shah, a 33-year-old, second generation hotelier from Clarksville.

The 79-room Marriott-brand hotel will boast 4,000 square feet of event space- a first for the area.

“The space will allow for a number of different corporate events, small conventions, and meetings,” says Pleasant View Mayor Perry Keenan.

If approved, the new hotel will be built according to the latest Marriott design standards with decor that has been described as “warm” and “timeless.”

Hot breakfast, free Wifi, and an outdoor pool are some of the other amenities the proposed hotel will bring to its Pleasant View location. Guests will also be able to utilize the Marriott Mobile Key app.

“Pleasant View is a growing community in a great location,” Shah says of his reasoning behind choosing Pleasant View as the proposed site of A & S Hospitality’s newest endeavor.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites will employ approximately 30 people— all of which will be local hires if possible, Shah says.

In addition to welcoming the employment options for residents, Keenan calls the potential tax revenue a “true blessing.” He also says that the additional hotel/motel tax will go directly toward enhancing tourism-related projects such as local parks, future ball fields, and greenways.

“I am very excited to have such a reputable brand like Marriott wanting to place this caliber of a hotel and event space here in Pleasant View,” Keenan added.
