Local Salon Continues Free Haircut Tradition

Did someone say “free haircut?”

On Monday, August 12, The Shop of Pleasant View will host their 5th annual back-to-school hair-cutting event.

Heather Hardwick, salon owner and mother of two school-age students herself, will work with her team of stylists to provide free haircuts to any student who comes to the salon between 4 PM and 7 PM.

The catch? Hardwick asks that each student bring a book to read to his/her stylist while they are getting their hair cut.

Over the past five years, the generous event has brought in hundreds of children ranging in age from kindergarten to high school.

“There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the happiness and excitement a new haircut brings to a child,” says Hardwick.

The Shop is located at 2556 Pleasant View Road in Pleasant View.
