Parents and grandparents will have a new place to take their little ones to play in Ashland City.
During their regularly scheduled meeting on May 20, Cheatham County Commissioners voted to approve the $20,000 Built Environment grant for new playground equipment through the Health Department.
Funds were provided to aid the Department of Health’s goal of making physical activity more accessible with Tennessee communities, said Brittany Tate, Assistant Regional Director and Cheatham County Health Department Director.
According to Cheatham County Mayor Kerry McCarver, the approximately $20,000 grant would bring new playground equipment to the center of the walking track in front of the Cheatham County Library on Frey Street.
The Health Department says they are currently working on an installation date with the vendor, Miracle Recreation of KY & TN. “We are aiming for a date within August or September,” Tate said.
