You have a new place to get mouthwatering smoked meats and sides in Pleasant View, and this is a barbecue spot with some serious credentials. Lee McWright, co-owner of Music City Catering and Tennessee BBQ Market on Highway 49 East, has won catering honors, several state and regional barbecue championships, and was featured on Food Network’s BBQ Circuit competition. McWright and his longtime friend Curt Sadler work hard to offer quality products and a special experience for catering clients.
McWright, a Nashville native and executive chef who moved to Pleasant View about 20 years ago, has been in the restaurant business for most of his life. He also has been working in meat processing, and his facility in Nashville produces up to several hundred pounds of meats per week for not just his businesses, but also for private schools, hotels, and hospitals.
Customers can pick up slow-smoked pulled pork, ribs, beef brisket, turkey, bologna, and more at the market on Saturday’s, starting at 9:00 a.m., and you’d better get there sooner rather than later, because McWright says they rarely stay stocked past 3:00 p.m. Their sides and desserts are all fresh, homemade favorites, like barbecue baked beans, cole slaw, turnip greens, corn on the cob, as well as fruit cobblers, peanut butter pie, banana pudding, and brownies.
Catering is also a big part of what Music City Catering and Tennessee BBQ Market are all about. McWright and Sadler’s clients receive a tailor-made experience with delicious meals with award-winning flavors. “We served a few hundred, up to a few thousand,” McWright said. “I’m trying to serve people something they can’t get anywhere else. We want our clients to have an experience. We want their event to be the talk of the town,” he explained.
