The Cheatham County School District has named Dana Gwyn as the new academic specialist at Sycamore Middle School. Gwyn replaces Mandi Batson, who is taking over as the school’s assistant principal. Gwyn graduated from Cheatham County Central High School, then received her bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Middle Tennessee State University and her master’s degree in Instructional Leadership from Bethel University. She returned to her home district in 2000 and has worked in various capacities within special education. Her most recent assignment was teaching the PRIDE class at Cheatham Middle School. “I am excited to join the Sycamore Middle School family and look forward to collaborating with the administration, teachers and staff at SMS to provide 5-Star quality education for the students,” she said.
