Civitan Plans Second Annual Comedy Night for August

Thanks to many requests and a dedicated local club, a popular event will be returning to Cheatham County next month.

On August 10, the doors of the Livery Stables in Pleasant View will open for the North Cheatham Civitan Club’s comedy night.

Beginning at 7 PM, the event will once again showcase entertainment by comedian Dan Whitehurst.

The second annual comedy night will be emceed by Valerie Kemp.

“I am thrilled to emcee this event again this year,” she says. “This event combines two of my favorite things: raising money for charity and laughing my head off!”

In addition to plenty of laughter that Whitehurst and Kemp are sure to deliver, attendees will also be served a taste-of-the-town dinner that will include dishes from area restaurants.

The cost for the show and dinner is $25 per person; tickets can be bought online at eventbrite.com or in Pleasant View at Heritage Bank or at the Law office of Steven Richardson.

“This year, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Mission of Hope,” says Lisa Richardson, the club’s president.

“Last year’s sold-out show was a big hit, so you won’t want to wait to purchase your tickets,” she adds.
