The Cheatham County School District has named Steve Dodd as the new Sycamore High School boys basketball coach.
Dodd, who has coached for nearly 40 years, comes to Sycamore after serving as the boys basketball coach at Hillwood High School from 2008 to 2019.
He replaces Toby Miles, who recently resigned after leading the War Eagles for the past six years.
Before joining Hillwood, Dodd was the boys basketball coach at Russell High School in Russell, Ky., from 2002 to 2008 and the men’s head basketball coach at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky., from 1998 to 2002.
Additionally, he coached on the collegiate level at Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia, Oklahoma Christian University in Oklahoma and Bethel College in Tennessee. He was also a member of the USA basketball coaching staff for the World University Games in 1999 and is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Lipscomb University and a master’s degree in Health Science from Austin Peay State University.
