Volunteers and members of Cheatham County's only Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6181 will hold their annual Buddy Poppy Sale this coming Saturday in downtown Ashland City from 7:30 till 4 pm.
Former Commander and Buddy Poppy participant Harold Hodges reminds us that "all the funds we raise here, stay right here in our County and are used for relief and assistance to those in need locally and help defray the costs of the community activities the post is involved in all year long. Post 6181 has held a Poppy Sale almost every year for over 20 years, and the continued support from our friends and neighbors has been amazing."
The Poppies, assembled by veterans needing manual dexterity exercises, provide a little money for those vets to use for personal care items while in treatment. Once the costs are covered, the net funds stay in Cheatham County.
Hodges added, " We look forward to this year's sale and the continued support of all the caring people we meet each year during the Poppy Sale."
Please stop by and help with a donation.
Volunteers will be at the downtown intersections in Ashland City all day on Saturday, May 4, weather permitting.
