Deputy Paul Ivey with the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office was recognized on Friday, December 21, during the department’s annual holiday party and award ceremony.
Ivey, a three-year veteran of the department, is known by his peers as an outgoing guy who always goes the extra mile to assist others.
“Paul also does an outstanding job as a supervisor,” says Sgt. Jeremy Ethridge. “When I’m not at work, I know that the shift is being ran the way it’s supposed to be.”
In addition to making several felony drug cases, hunting down dangerous fugitives on the run, and saving multiple lives, Ivey recently uncovered an international crime ring during a routine traffic stop on December 12.
“Deputy Paul Ivey goes out of his way to guide fellow deputies and gives his protective hand to the citizens of Cheatham County,” says Cheatham County Sheriff Mike Breedlove.
Also during the luncheon, deputies Michael Peeler and Tyler Temple were commended.
Deputy Dahianna Arguello was selected as the Cheatham County Sheriff's Office's Deputy of the Year, and Sgt. Chris Gilmore was chosen as School Resource Officer of the Year, the department's first award for this position.
