On October 7, members of the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department traveled to Maryland to take part in the National Firefighters Memorial Ceremony, an event designed to honor fallen heroes.
In the touching Emmitsburg ceremony, 80 firefighters from 2017 and 23 from year’s past were memorialized. Steve Hunt, former firefighter with the PVVFD tragically killed responding to a call in 1984, was one of the many honored.
