Criminal Justice students at Sycamore High School once again took part in the annual “Pig Dig” project during the week of May 14-18, 2018.
The Criminal Justice S.T.E.M. project boasted an onsite criminal investigation that allowed students to utilize skills learned in the classroom to go through the five-day project that mimicked a real-life investigation from start to finish.
Students experienced a police call for service, police response to the scene, a police investigation, the obtaining of search warrants, the obtaining of criminal arrest warrants, and the complete processing of a major crime scene- including the burial recovery of a pig that represented the body of a homicide victim.
The investigation ended in a mock courtroom trial.
