Autopsy Results Released in 'Bizarre' Ashland City Double Death Case

The autopsy findings on two people discovered deceased in January at their Caldwell Road residence was released Thursday by the Medical Examiner’s Office in Nashville. John M. Pendleton, 60, was discovered outside the home and Mildred Jones, 67, was found inside her bedroom.

It appeared Jones died well before Pendleton, and in a bizarre finding, he allegedly kept her death a secret for unknown reasons.

The examination of Jones concluded she died of natural causes in her bed from cardiovascular disease. Pendleton was discovered face down in his front yard. His autopsy revealed cause of death from hypothermia. There was no evidence of foul play or trauma on either victim.

After consultation with District Attorney Ray Crouch, the investigation was closed.
