PVFA to Introduce Co-Ed Flag Football

After many requests, the Pleasant View Football Association (PVFA) has made the move to initiate a youth co-ed flag football league slated to open their inaugural season on April 1, 2018.

“We have had interest for quite some time now,” says Josh Hamblin the commissioner for the Pleasant View Eagles.

Boys and girls ages five through 14 (as of July 31) are encouraged to play regardless of experience level or place of residence.

The cost per player is $75; there is a sibling discount of $5 per sibling.

Live registration will be held during a chili lunch and league fundraiser scheduled for February 24, 2018. The event will take place from 1 PM to 4PM at the Coach House in Pleasant View and will cost $5 at the door.

Interested parties can also register online at www.pveagles.net.

Registration will be open until February 28, 2018.

The flag football season will run from April 1 through May 20, with practice beginning March 14. Practices will be held on Wednesdays, and so the games do not interfere with other sports, they will take place on Sundays.

If the first season is a success, Hamblin says that it is something they will “continue to build upon, and maybe even expand to accommodate more age groups.”
