Cheatham Burglary Suspect Found Shot in Nashville

On November 28, 2017 at approximately 10:11 PM, a call came in to Cheatham Dispatch that someone broke into Finch’s Market located on Hwy 70 in Pegram.

Kristan Elkins, witness, stated the owner had been dragged down the street driven by two males in a green mini-van. The van was observed fleeing east on 70 toward Nashville.

Deputies arrived two minutes later. The victim was injured with road rash on his face, arms, and legs. The victim stated to deputies that while being dragged, he produced a handgun and fired one time in the suspect’s vehicle. He stated he thought he struck one of the suspects.

This morning, leads were investigated by Cheatham County deputies and investigators. There was an incident of another market on Hwy 70 that reported suspicious activity a few days ago. A review of the surveillance video from the earlier report revealed a person, similar vehicle description, and an identifiable tag number registered to a person in Nashville.

Investigators traveled to Nashville to follow up on the lead where they observed a van on 12th Ave. North with the same tag number. Investigators approached the van and discovered an adult male in the back seat. It was noticed he had a gunshot wound to the abdomen. An ambulance was immediately called.

The person is identified as PHILLIP NOE, 54, from Nashville and was quickly transported to Vanderbilt where he is currently in surgery.

A hold has been placed on NOE and the case is still under investigation.

At this time, burglary and theft charges are being pursued; other charges may come after meeting with the District Attorney’s Office.
