Community Agencies Come Together at Summit

The Ashland City Armory played host to the Cheatham County Community Enhancement Coalition’s (CCCEC) inaugural Summit on September 30. Through the event, the CCCEC was able to provide residents of Cheatham County with the opportunity to learn about resources available to them locally. The free event also allowed community leaders and agency employees/volunteers to informally meet and learn from one another.

The 36 agencies, non-profit organizations, and businesses that supported the event helped bring in over $1200 in donations. The donations were used to provide $300 to each of the following organizations: Cheatham County Kids, Mental Health Coop, Imagination Library, and Cheatham County Recovery House.; the recipients were chosen randomly.

A number of gift certificates were also donated which were used as door prizes for community members who attended to the Summit. Children's activities were offered by an outreach instructor from the Nashville Adventure Science Center; a corn hole game was provided by the County Extension Service, face-painting was offered by Angele Terry Baker, a bounce house was provided by Pleasant View Party Rentals, and the CCCEC served lemonade and cookies.

All attendees received a brochure that provided a list of the names of participating agencies and organizations, a description of the services they provide, and contact information for the organizations.
