ASHLAND CITY, TN––Colby's Army, a 501c3 nonprofit organization will hold their 2nd Annual Extravaganza on Saturday, October 21 from 9:00AM-2:00PM at the Colby's Army Learning Center (14394 George Boyd Road, Ashland City, TN 37015). The extravaganza is a yard sale, bake sale, and arts and crafts sale, combined with free fun family activities such as hiking the organization's private trails. Attendees can also meet a therapy horse or cat, and navigate the activity course. Most of the event will be held indoors and will be held rain or shine.
Colby's Army helps people with life challenges through outreach, and interactions with animals and nature. Programs include therapeutic riding, equine assisted ground-based activities, job training, gardening, and homeless outreach.
"We have an entire barn full of items, thousands of them, that are priced to sell," said Lisa Wysocky, the organization's executive director. "We have a lot of very nice furniture, toys and baby items, holiday decorations, household goods, books, CDs and DVDs, lawn items, small appliances, and much more."
All proceeds go to helping people with life challenges reach their goals. Those who would like to contribute but cannot attend the event can go to ColbysArmy.org and click on the yellow donate button. It will lead people to a PayPal page where they can type the amount of their donation. Or, checks can be mailed to Colby's Army, PO Box 90464, Nashville, TN 37209 Colby's Army is the proud recent recipient of two prestigious PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) Region 5 awards: Robert Light is their Volunteer of the Year, and Tessie, a sixteen-year-old Belgian/Quarter Horse cross, is the Equine of the Year.
