The War Eagles have had two of their baseball players selected to attend the upcoming PBR Underclassman Border Battle. Sophomore Noah Jolley and junior Blaine McIntosh were chosen based off of their stats and on-field performance last season.

The battle between Tennessee and Kentucky showcases the top uncommitted players of the 2019 and 2020 classes in both states. During the early fall event, the War Eagle duo will participate in a professional-style workout before taking to the diamond for a double-header.

"I'm honored to be accepted to this game. I have played baseball since I was four years old and now everything I've dreamed of is coming true," says Jolley, a catcher for Sycamore.

McIntosh, a center fielder, says, "I think I was nominated because of my hard work and dedication to the sport."

And War Eagle Head Coach Daniel Smiley echoes those thoughts about both young men. “They are deserving, and I am excited for this opportunity for them,” he says.

The Border Battle, designed to draw the attention of collage coaches throughout the region, will record stats and add them to player profiles on the PBR website that over 750 college coaches subscribe to.

The game is scheduled for October 21 at the University of Western Kentucky in Bowling Green.
