Photo Contest Designed to Capture the Essence of Pleasant View

The Town of Pleasant View is currently working with Payable 2 to develop and launch a new website to represent the town. To stock the website with eye-catching images and to give residents a chance to show off their skills and town pride, a Pleasant View-themed photo contest will soon be underway.

Beginning September 8, members of the community are invited to capture, via their camera lens, the most treasured, recognized, and celebrated areas within Pleasant View’s city limits.

So residents of all ages can fairly participate, the contest has been divided into the following groups: elementary school, middle school, high school, and home schooled students who reside in the 37146 zip code, adults, and professionals.

Up to five submissions will be accepted per person.

Photos should be saved in JPG format, and labeled with the first name, last name, and a number (1-5) according to how many are being submitted.

Three photos (first, second, and third place) will be chosen from each group by a panel of judges; one overall winner will be chosen by a vote open to the community.

Winners will have the honor of having their image displayed on the town’s new website, have an opportunity to have their image printed in the Discover Cheatham magazine being put out by the Chamber of Commerce in 2018, and have their image printed in the newspaper- with the overall winner getting a spot on the front page. Despite massive bragging rights, the possibility of other prizes is currently being discussed amongst the contest committee.

The deadline for this contest is September 22; winners will be announced on October 8.

To submit images, visit www.townofpleasantview.com and follow the prompts after clicking on the designated link.

Pleasant View Mayor Perry Keenan has also made a special call for historical photos. Although these cannot be considered for the contest, they will help bring the town’s past alive on the website. Please scan and send old photos to throughthelenscontest@gmail.com or drop off originals to Pleasant View City Hall.
