Around 5:30 PM Friday evening, the body of 41-year old Demetrice Carter was recovered.
After thoroughly searching the densely wooded area surrounding her home on Savely Road, the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the District Attorney's Office, located the Pegram resident about 100 yards away from her residence.
According to authorities, Carter had been missing for approximately five days; she had not been heard from since she went to bed Saturday evening.
The cause of death is currently unknown and the case remains under investigation.
