Leadership Cheatham County Welcomes Newest Class

Leadership Cheatham County (LCC) welcomed its newest class on Friday, Aug. 18 with an opening reception at Vantage Pointe Village in Ashland City.

LCC alumni welcomed the 11-member class. The keynote speaker was Ray Crouch Jr., the district attorney for the 23rd Judicial District.

Members of the Class of 2017-2018, as seen right, are (front row, from left) Beth Batson, Christine Fleming, Tami Terrell, and Amanda Shirey; (back row) John Lawless, Jason Miller, Chris Gilmore, Kellie Reed, Cheryl Ewing, Peter Chimera, and Bo Bowen.

LCC consists of nine monthly program days that address various issues of importance in Cheatham County. Class members will view and gain a hands-on knowledge of the county’s history, agriculture and tourism offerings, in addition to seeing how the education system, businesses and industry, safety services and government operations all work together within Cheatham County and its four municipalities.

The class will also be involved in the development of a group project that will benefit the county as a whole. The opening retreat will be held in September.
